Yes, we were privileged to have been part of that evening as we were first serenaded by a choir of angelic voices to Josh Groban’s song "You raise me up". How fitting the words as we watched a series of photo shots and video clips of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, monkeys running free, running happy in their ‘wilderness freedom in Noah’s Ark sanctuary in Pekan Nanas. Yes we have been to visit and can attest to the open-ness of that place. No wonder the animals don’t just appear happy, they are, we know because we were when we visited.

We were kept entertained the rest of the evening by the maestro of fun, Mr. Vernon Cornelius, lead singer from the Quest, a band highly famed in Singapore and Malaysia in the 60s, with his repertoire of Cliff Richard’s hits. He was a crowd pleaser and songs like “Living Doll” and “The Young Ones” kept us clapping for more as our feet tapped and bodies swayed, as we sang along, many those in the audience the remembering the words.

The cuisine was superb. The dishes came beautifully presented as tiny pieces of art in themselves. Five courses – Aw ! too much, we protested - We left feeling like gluttons!
At the end of the dinner, some guests were reluctant to leave as Vernon Cornelius was still serenading, sigh…A toast to the organisers and volunteers on a job well done!
Snowy
Remember Snowy, the little white dog with patches of brown rescued from the breeding farm with the beagles. He has recently been adopted by the fosterer who has been looking after him for the last couple of months.
Poor Fella, "Take him if you want", and what would have hapened if nobody wanted? What will become of Snowy. But it was in God’s plan that Snowy would be rescued because of the beagles. That His timing was just perfect, if it had not been, Snowy would still have been in that little cage with no name of his own, no freedom and not much food as he was so terribly thin and bad skin condition, irritated red sores and rashes all over his face, body and paws. What he had been feeding on, we dare not imagine as it took him a while to get used to dog food. For all we know he could have died in his cage, forgoteen and unwanted. Poor Snowy.
Snowy, after his first grooming, when he stayed with J and J. Snowy had to be carried everywhere as he was too afraid to walk. His baby steps into family life and rehabilitation was slow but sure with with their love and assurance.
But thank God and His plan for Snowy, through the kindness first of L who sponsored his initial medical bills, J and J who volunteered a home so he can get out of that hell hole and into baby steps of rehabilitation, and then to B and Y who offered fostering to nurture him to full health recovery. Then finally his destiny came in the form of C and family who decided they will offer him a home, a home where he can stay, not as a guest but as a family member, without worrying if it will be for a few months or for a few years but forever.
Snow when he was with B and Y, who nurtured him to full health and Snowy developed muscles and stamina!!
This family had liked him all along but felt that if there was a good home available, they will let him go so they can open their door to other needy dogs who needed fostering. A couple of weeks ago, Snowy went for his neutering operation. He was extremely traumatised and after the operation, strangely as their other dog went through the same procedure and slept soundly through, Snow was whimpering and anxious the whole day and night and too afraid to even sit, much less lie down. He even fell asleep standing with his eyes closed as if afraid of his stitches. The family spent much effort trying to pacify his fears. C's daughter A eventually laid down on the floor the whole night so that she could cuddle Snowy to arrest his fears.
Having gone through such an experience with Snowy, they realise the bond they have with this little chap is far greater than they had thought. They have come to an unanimous decision in the family of five that they can't bear to see him leave. Snowy is devotedly attached to A, had been from day one but now even more so after his ordeal.
Yes Snowy has become integral in their lives and a faithful, loyal friend to A, whom Snowy adores. If she is home, Snowy is always by her side. He will not sleep unless she does and neither will he leave. Such devotion is Snowy’s personality, what a great little dog, what a courageous one. What fighting spirit.
Snowy as he is now with C and family. Happy, assured, confident
From a dog with serious separation anxiety, one who would bark nonstop when left alone, or bark at 2 am every morning for no reason, he no longer displays such malady. He understands when the family need to leave for work or school and will stay quietly with Rusky, his canine brother. He has learnt that absence does not mean forever and out of sight is only temporary. Yes his confidence has been completely restored.
Snowy ‘chopes’ Rusky’s bed, but Rusky does not mind for Snowy shares his food. They are both good friends.
He plays well with Rusky and both dogs have learnt to share, food, bed, toys, affection. Like two siblings they are yin and yang. One is active and playful, the other is quiet and peaceful. They are best of friends, both adding value and joy into this family’s life. As it should be.
Snowy, dear Snowy. Finally home.

Coco’s story
Coco is a beautiful jet black glossy coated 8 month old Labrador- cross female dog looking for a home. Loyal and faithful, Coco enjoys gallops and play. She has been sterilised and healthy, very good with people and children. Is there a home where Coco can live forever and bask in love? She is much too young to stay in a Kennel and cries to come out as she loves human interaction. Regretfully, Coco would not be suitable for HDB dwelling.
Devoted Mia Cara For Adoption
Name: Mia Cara
Gender : Sterilised Female
Age : 1 year+
Size : Small sized
Cross Breed
Happy, alert and happy
Excellent with people & kids
Sweet Mia Cara (my dearest Cara) is like a dog you have never met before. She stood by her pups defending them despite the dangers from men who beat her with sticks to rid her of their premises.
Till this day, Cara avoids broomsticks with the bad memories it carries. She stayed when many stray mothers would have abandoned her pups if they are in danger or short of food but not Cara. And when in the Shelter and she could no longer nurse her pups with her milk, she regurgitated her food for them.
Yes, Cara’s story is one that could touch you. All her pups have been happily rehomed. Now is her turn. Her chance at a family as she so deserves having given up everything for her precious pups, she would have sacrificed her life for them too.
